Browsers and platform market share statistic sources

It's pretty common, that when you start a new project, you need to define which platforms are you going to support? Well, at the moment i know 2 sources which, show pretty similar data and can provide you the answer for your question :

1. W3Counter - pretty basic and doesn't allow you to customise you query of filter out some data
2. StatsCounter - allows to distinguish mobile and desktop platforms, show data in graphs and also on a map, which can be very important, if project is targeted at specific country or continent at start.
